Yuksek - Away From the Sea (Review)

Upon starting this album, I'm on track 11 featuring Chromeo and I haven't skipped a song yet. Not because they are really short songs but rather they are all quite enjoyable. If you have been the electro scene for a while you may have come to discover the name Yuksek. I first discovered Yuksek when he did a remix for U-God of the Wu-Tang Clan on a song called Ugodzilla. Yuksek killed the track and this of course sparked my interest. Under the radar, dude released an album barely over a week ago (Feb. 2). Intrigued I scoured the blogs for a download of the entire album of which to my avail, there were plenty. However, upon reviewing this album this of course motivates me to purchase the album. Each song has that definite Yuksek funky breaks that makes you want to do the hustle. There hasn't been a full length electro album since Justice's cross that has been this refreshing. Granted, Justice did release A Cross the Universe which I bought. Away From the Sea is semi-repetitive yet packed with energy and undoubtedly enjoyable to listen to. To illustrate how I feel about this album I will provide the following letter grade:

B+

Here's the track that sparked my interest:
U-God - Ugodzilla (Yuksek Remix)

Here's one track off the album I enjoyed.
Yuksek - This Is Not Disco [PREVIEW]

If you like it, purchase it. Yuksek is not 50 cent and doesn't ink deals with sponsors like Vitamin Water for a milli. Ergo, buy the album, keep it forever and help keep Yuksek's lights on. Click here for tracklisting.
